FAQ

Yes. In Franklin Lakes New Jersey we have R&D, our general offices and manufacturing center. We also have an extensive FAT and test facility in Bristol Connecticut where we have the ability to FAT multiple pieces of equipment or complete systems.

Yes, we manufacture all our equipment as a minimum in 304 Stainless steel, but when requested, we fabricate in 304 L, 316 and 316 L. We have a bright shop so do not fabricate in Carbon Steel.

I assume you still want a swivel column, if so, we can provide a manual option. However, a hand or manual swivel does have limitations, we would be please to talk to you about your application.

If you mean fiber drums, then yes. Our drum manipulators can easily handle plastic, fiber and steel drum of varying sizes. We can also deal with drum liners, nesting drums and trash cans.

Sometimes dropping soluble material into dispersion tank, you need to ensure dissolution before settling occurs, adding salt to make a brine is one such process. We would substitute the standard butterfly valve on the drum cone outlet with a star valve or oscillating rotary valve. These valves take up the same head room as a butterfly valve but instead of simply rotating, they oscillate back and forth 180 degrees discharging a set quantity of product per pulse. Pulse timers are used to set the rate.

We do both and would suggest the best alternative for you if we knew a little more of your application. Of course, the pneumatic systems would be more cost effective but there are tradeoffs.

Yes, we can do that, the two gates can either be opposing on in a S load configuration, or perpendicular having a common hinge post. The more common choice would be the opposing gates, as the pallets need only to be two way, for perpendicular gates the pallets would have to be a 4-way design.

A more common approach would be to anchor to the nearest fixed structure, this will probably be the mezzanine itself. There will be reactionary forces you will have to deal with but generally we do not need to top anchor.

This is not a problem, but to use our standard portable lift we will need to know how big your drum is and your discharge height. If the geometry doesn’t not work for our standard portable lift, we would suggest the portable Telescoping drum inverter. This unit is designed to travel through restricted head room areas yet telescope to offer an elevated discharge.

Please contact us at 201.405.0311 and we can look at this in more detail.

Yes, you do. Many interlocks are not fail-safe. That is to say, when the power goes off the lock opens, creating a fall hazard from elevated positions. You will require a lock that remans lock when the power is out.

Please call the office on 201.405.0311 or email sales@metosytems.com to discuss your needs with an engineer.
